Businesses in the region have been honoured by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for their outstanding achievements in workplace safety.
In recognition of their efforts over the past year they were presented with RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC this week for their efforts over the past year.
Fifty-nine organisations in Wales were among the 1,400 winners recognised by RoSPA in the 51st year of the awards programme.
Winners of the gold award in Flintshire and Wrexham were Costain Ltd Welsh Water Asset Management in Ewloe, Ipsen Biopharm Ltd in Wrexham, NSG UK Ltd in Deeside, Corus in Shotton, Portable Foods Manufacturing in Wrexham, Redrow in Ewloe, Shotton Combined Heat and Power Station, West Coast Energy (WCE Network) in Mold, Wockhardt UK in Wrexham, Dee Tech Services Ltd in Deeside.
Deeside College were commended in the education and training services sector.
Acrefair Manufacturing and Kellogg’s, both in Wrexham, received the President’s Award.
Tom Mullarkey, RoSPA chief executive said: “These award winners have demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety and they should be proud of their success.
“We hope others will follow their efforts to support RoSPA’s mission to save lives and reduce injuries.”

A new report says that conflict in the workplace is rife with one in three workers clashing with a colleague every week.
A survey of 1000 workers by law firm Eversheds showed that most workers believe conflict is bad for their health. Younger workers are most likely to be at odds with someone they share an office with.
