A rail service which will link North Wales and London was given the go-ahead yesterday.

Permission was granted for the Wrexham, Shropshire and Marlebone Railway to run services between Wrexham and London.

WSMR has been granted a track access contract which will enable the company to run five each-way services on weekdays, three each-way on Saturdays and three north-bound and three south-bound on Sundays.

Some 50 jobs will be created and the Assembly Government has agreed to help fund the development of a new depot for the service at Wrexham.
