FSB calls for part time post offices to ease impact of closures

Winners announced for the Daily Post / Bangor University Business Master contest

Bangor Business School offered the opportunity to win a scholarship to study for an Executive MBA at North Wales’ prestigious new Management Centre.

The Daily Post and the University of Wales, Bangor launched a unique Business Master Competition to find two deserving candidates to study at the Management Centre at the Business School from September. The two successful candidates from North Wales will each be awarded a scholarship worth £6,500 towards the total £11,500 cost of the Executive MBA course.

There was a very good response to the competition the two winners are Ceri Jones, Product Development Exec for Visit Wales, and Superintendent Simon Shaw of North Wales Police.

Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones in Wrexham this week

Ieuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister for the Economy and Transport is in North East Wales this week visiting three of the largest companies in the area. He will be visiting Wrexham company Hoya Lens UK which has been established in Wales for 27 years. The company currently employs 600 people to manufacture spectacle lenses for major multiples including ASDA and Boots.

He will also tour the Airbus wing factory at Broughton and the Toyota engine plant on Deeside Industrial Park.

Small businesses opposed to road pricing

An Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank survey reveals that nearly two thirds of small businesses in Wales are opposed to road pricing. Of those two thirds say their profits will be affected when road pricing scheme comes into effect.
